A fine boating and canoeing area is available on Pohick Bay, just off the Potomac River. A beautiful swimming pool offers in finest in swimming instruction and fun. A trained central staff will assist Units in the fields of aquatics, nature and conservation, fieldsports, Scoutcraft and handicraft.
Meals are served in the Central Dining Hall. Camp is operated on a Unit camping basis, however there are limited facilities for provisional campers.

While the council is not able to provide for the full camping needs of all Units it does offer short term camping facilities at Camp Roosevelt and the Wilson Socut Reservation except during the summer camping season. Camp Tapawingo is available the year round, To use any Council camp it is necessary to make a reservation and fill out an application. A reservation must be made two weeks prior to going to camp. A sample application is enclosed in this kit. The permit will be filled out at the Scout Service Center and returned to the Leader who will present it to the Camp Caretaker upon arrival.
If it is desirable to check on the available sites and make a telephone reservation, the written application should follow within seventy-two (72) hours.

From downtown Washington - over 14th St. Bridge to Shirley Highway, then turn right at Lorton turnoff, then left on Route #642 to Route #1; then turn right to Gunston Hall Road, Route #242. Turn left at Wilson Reservation Sign. 21.4 miles from Jefferson Memorial to Wilson Reservation.
